Italy scores on itself twice
It’s difficult when you accidentally put the ball into your own net, but to do it twice was upsetting. Italy helped Israel open the scoring and scored a late equalizer. Manuel Locatelli tried to block a pass, but redirected the ball past his keeper in the 16th minute, and then late in the second half, Alessandro Bastoni also put the ball into his own net to pull one back in the 87th minute.
Italy equalizes in the first half
Italy has been knocking on the door, trying to get that equalizer in this World Cup qualifier. They finally broke through as Mateo Retegui was attacking down the far side, and made a nice pass to Moise Kean as he took it one time. Scored inside the near post in the 40th minute
Israel regains the lead
In the second half, the fight continues. Israel scored to regain the lead when Manor Solomon had the ball along the near side. Made a move toward the area, passed it to Dor Peretz, who took it one time and scored in the 52nd minute.
Italy equalizes again, Kean again
Italy wasn’t discouraged as they quickly got back in the game. The attack was coming from the far side. A long ball was crossed, and as it took a hard bounce, Moise Kean did it again as he took another one-time strike to equalize the match at two in the 54th minute.
Italy takes the lead
Italy didn’t hold back; they wanted to fight and keep on going. They earned a throw al;ong the near side touchline. A quick give-and-go as Mateo Retegui pushed the ball into the path of Matteo Politano and redirected the ball inside the far post in the 58th minute.
Then scored a fourth goal to cement the lead as Davide Frattes received the ball from the far side. He faked the shot and slipped a pass to Giacomo Raspadori, and he redirected it inside the front post in the 81st minute.
Israel gets a late equalizer
The home side quickly struck to get their equalizer. They earned a free kick, faked it for a pass, then a long cross toward the end line. Another pass for Dov Peretz as he heads it inside the near post in the 89th minute.
Italy finally gets the last laugh
Seven minutes of second-half stoppage time were added. The cross to the far side was too far, and Sandro Tonali recovered the ball. He came toward the outside of the area, took a hard shot, and scored in the first minute of the seventh minute. The ball had eyes.
