Edwin Gomez – Photographer
Edwin Gomez is a South Florida-based sports and lifestyle photographer whose passion for visual storytelling began at a young age. His first experience behind the camera came during a family cruise to Alaska, where his cousin—a professional photographer and cinematographer—introduced him to the power of capturing moments that can’t be repeated. That experience sparked a lifelong fascination with freezing time and telling stories through a single frame.
In 2014, Edwin enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a satellite operator. Over the next ten years, he served at Camp Pendleton, New York City, and Fort Lauderdale, using photography to document his travels and the environments he experienced. The discipline, adaptability, and perspective gained during his military career continue to influence his creative style today.
Life After The Marines
After leaving the Marine Corps in 2023, Edwin focused on advancing his education and expanding his creative opportunities. He is completing his bachelor’s degree in Marketing at Florida Atlantic University and will begin his Master’s in Sports Management, combining his academic background and passion for photography to advance his career in the sports media industry.
Edwin has built an impressive and rapidly growing portfolio across professional, international, and Major League sports. He has photographed high-profile matchups such as Colombia vs. Mexico, multiple Argentina national team matches in the U.S., and Cruz Azul vs. León in Liga MX. He has also covered most of Inter Miami CF’s regular season, Leagues Cup, and playoff run, as well as Major League Baseball games with the Miami Marlins.
These experiences continue to fuel his ambition to grow, elevate his craft, and ultimately shoot at the highest levels of sports.
