After two matches returning from the winter break, a change is made at head coach
Davie, FL- On Tuesday night, February 10th, Fort Lauderdale United made a coaching change as they relieved Ali Rogers of her duties as head coach. On Wednesday afternoon, February 11th, the club has promoted goalkeeper coach Paul Jennison to interim head coach and take over the club for the rest of the 2025-26 Gainbridge USL Super League Season and try to get the club back toward the top four of the table.
Ali Rogers’ time with the club
She was a part of the clubs inaugurial 2024-25 season as the associate coach in their run to the Gainbridge USL Super League championship final, then was named head coach on September 16th, 2025. After starting this season with two wins and two draws, Rogers took over during the road trip to Brooklyn FC and won two goals to one.
From that point on, the club had a record under Rogers with the win at Brooklyn, earning two wins, four draws, and six losses, with the last two matches on the road after returning from the winter break. That’s when the club mae the change

We appreciate her efforts and wish her the very best in the next chapter of her career.”
Paul Jennison
He joined the club in the offseason of July 2025, helping out the technical staff throughout the 2025/26 campaign. The Middlesbrough, England, native has 17 seasons under his belt in the collegiate and professional levels of the game, as he served as assistant coach and goalkeeper coach for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. He was also the assistant coach at Northwestern University’s women’s program.
“Paul has earned this opportunity through his work ethic, leadership, and commitment to our players,” said Tyrone Mears, President of Soccer. “He has been an important part of our technical staff this season and understands the standards and culture we are building at Fort Lauderdale United. We believe in continuity, we believe in our pathway, and we have full confidence in Paul as we enter a critical stretch of the season.”
Internationally, he served as the goalkeeper coach for the British Virgin Islands men’s team and was a coach educator for the U.S. Soccer Federation.
“I’m excited for this tremendous opportunity,” said Jennison. “This is a special place, and we certainly have a very bright future. The important thing is to build on our already well- established foundation and bring in the collective together so we can move the team forward. We’re very excited about the players we have on the roster and how we can continuously bring the best out of them. We appreciate the support from our community and are looking forward to continuing to give them a team they can rally behind.”
