Florham Park, NJ- The Division lead is up for grabs in Week 2 for the Jets.
The New York Jets are having a good performance, but not the final score against the Pittsburgh Steelers, are getting ready to take on the Buffalo Bills for their next home game at MetLife Stadium this Sunday. The Bills are coming off a late comeback victory over the Baltimore Ravens, and will challenge the Jets for first place.
Buffalo’s Coaching staff is very good.
Since the Bills hired Sean McDermott back on January 11th, 2017, the Bills have been one of the better teams in the AFC. Always preparing the players for each and every game at home or on the road. He has also done well in the AFC East, and this time he will face Aaron Glenn, who’s excited for this challenge.
“This is a game that, I mean, the players are really excited, looking forward to it. Same with the coaches. Really good opponent. Really good coaching staff. I respect how they go about business. A number of these coaches I’ve been knowing for a while. Brady, I coached with him in New Orleans, so I know exactly how he operates as far as work ethic and things like that. And Bobby Babich, the coordinator, I worked with him in Cleveland, so I know exactly how he operates. So this is gonna be a challenge for us. We all know that. Really good team, good personnel, damn good quarterback. But our guys are excited, you know, for this challenge. Again, along with the coaches, too. So Sunday will be a good one. It’ll be a good one,” said Aaron Glenn.
Offense wants to repeat against Buffalo
After their fantastic display on the offensive side of the ball, the Jets are looking to have a repeat performance against the Bills, like they did against the Steelers. Run the ball down the middle, make timely passes, keep the quarterback upright, and keep the pocket open to make plays.
“We don’t want to be a flash in the pan where we’re 32 [points] one week and 10 the next week,” Glenn said. “And I know that happens because there are some good defenses out here, but for the most part, we’re working to be consistent on all levels, in all three phases of this football team.”
Armand Membou’s next challenge
Seeing what Membou did to T.J. Watt of the Steelers by preventing him from getting near Justin Fields, his next big assignment is to face Matt Milano. Milano can play very nastily, and he has been known to take liberties against the quarterback, like he did to Mike White back in 2022 after Zach Wilson was benched.
Josh Allen is a strong-willed quarterback
Without a doubt, the Bills as a whole are being led by Josh Allen. He continues to go out on the field every game to will his team to victory, like the comeback win at home against the Baltimore Ravens. Down after the first three quarters, Allen picked up his team and got them to score and win by setting up a field goal for Special Teams to take over in the dying minutes of the game.
“I mean, obviously, he was the MVP, so there’s a number of things that he does well. He’s big, he’s physical. The one thing that really stands out about him, he’s highly competitive. And he is one of those guys that can will his team to victory. So that’s one thing that we have to do a really good job. Our will has to be stronger than his will. And that’s a challenge in itself because of who he is. So this is gonna be a game of who’s gonna out-will each other. And these games between these two teams have always been pretty tight. So for the most part, he brings a lot to the table. And I mean, there’s so many things,” said Glenn.
Injury Report
The Buffalo Bills will be missing Ed Oliver with an ankle injury, as that can be seen as an advantage for the Jets’ running game. Questionable OLB Shaq Thompson, Jordan Hancock, Tre’Davious White, Taron Johnson
For the Jets, three players are out: Running back Kene Nwangwu, Wide Receiver Josh Reynolds, and Defensive Lineman Jay Tufele. Questionable is Cornerback Michael Carter II and Tight End Mason Taylor
