The New York Knicks traveled back down to the Peach State to finish the job against the Atlanta Hawks and prepare for round 2. Not only did they finish the job, but they also threw down multiple exclamation points and outshot the Hawks by plenty. After refocusing their game being down two games to one, the Knicks rattled off three consecutive victories, keeping the Hawks below 100 points, and in Game 6, they forced bad shots to end the Hawks’ threats to go to Game 7, as the final score was 140-89 for the Knicks.
The Hawks had the lead twice in the first quarter, with the score at 11-9, until the Knicks turned on the gas and never looked back. They were relentless, attacking the rim, hitting their three-pointers, and continuing to play suffocating defense. The Hawks had no answers and were forced to try to hang on while the Knicks continued to hit every single shot they found. Nothing stopped them in three quarters, before the bench players took over the fourth quarter to end the onslaught. O.G. Anunoby was on fire as the leading scorer with 29 points, Karl Anthony Towns had his second triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists, while Jalen Brunson was the second leading scorer for the Knicks with 17 points.
Jalen Johnson was the lone Atlanta Hawks player who showed up as their leading scorer with 21 points, while the entire team combined had 68 points. The other starters on the Hawks who had horrible games are C.J. McCollum and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who ended the game with 11 points, Onyeka Okongwu with four points, and Dyson Daniels with three points. The leading Bench player was Jonathan Kuminga with 11 points.

First Half: The onslaught started
The Knicks just kept finding ways to make shots and frustrated the Hawks all game. They had a 25-point lead at the end of the first quarter and continued that domination into the second quarter. Anytime the Knicks missed a shot, they were determined to grab their own rebounds and put the ball back into the hoop. They reached halftime with an amazing 83 points while the Hawks could only muster 36. The Knicks had a 36-11 run to dominate the first half, but during an and-one, Mitchell Robinson and Dyson Daniels got into a shoving match, and something was said that made Robinson angry, causing a ruckus on the court. Both men earned technical fouls, and both men were ejected for the rest of the game.

Second Half: The foot was still on the gas, and then the white flag
When the second half began, the Knicks continued what they started. They showed the Hawks who was the boss, and they continued their dominance. When the clock reached 8:22 of the third quarter, the Knicks were able to reach over the 100 points mark, and kept their attack strong. They passed the ball around, then they put in their bench players within the final minutes of the third quarter and allowed them to battle the rest of the game as the Knicks took it in six. Great defense and precise shooting were the big factors of this game.
