Knicks Blow Out the Nets, Breaking a Four-Game Losing Streak

Torched the Nets all night long

After getting blown out on national television against the Dallas Stars on Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, the New York Knicks came back to Madison Square Garden for an in-city rivalry game against the Brooklyn Nets, and it was a no contest all night long. They took out their frustrations on their neighbors from the southeast borough and pummeled them by a final score of 120-66.

It was a team effort as the starters and the bench players were making shots and dropping three pointers all night long. While Jalen Brunson did lead all scorers with 20 points, leading the bench was Landry Shamet with 18 points, and he was perfect, hitting all six of his three-point chances. The starters connected as a whole with a combined 60 points, while the bench hit a combined 59 points with extended time in the fourth quarter.

First Half: Came out flying and never stopped

The Knicks might have started a bit slow after the opening tip, but once they kicked it into gear, they were dominating the play all over the court. Josh Hart was playing facilitator with passes all over the court, while Jalen Brunson, Mikael Bridges, and OG Anunoby were taking shots and slamming the ball down. Mitchell Robinson was also in play for a few alley oops as well.

Second Half: The Bench players came in to add to the destruction

After the starters extended the lead, the rest of the game in the fourth quarter was the bench players, as Deuce McBride, Landry Shamet, Jordan Clarkson, Tyler Kolec, and Mohamed Diawara continued the domination for the Knicks to take out the Nets.
