West Point, NY- Army Black Knights senior guard Reese Ericson has earned recognition as the Patriot League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week following an explosive offensive stretch that highlighted her as one of the most dangerous perimeter shooters in the country. The honor, announced Monday, reflects her game-changing impact in recent Army West Point basketball victories.
Hailing from Lake Oswego, Oregon, Ericson played a pivotal role in Army’s consecutive victories over Boston University and American University last week. She averaged 20 points per game during that stretch, putting on a shooting clinic from beyond the arc. Ericson posted a 59.1% field goal percentage overall and an eye-popping 68.4% from three, with all 13 of her made baskets coming from behind the arc. Her performance further cemented her status as one of college basketball’s most prolific three-point shooters in the 2025–26 season.

Ericson’s Elite Efficiency from Beyond the Arc
Ericson’s long-range barrage was on full display in Army’s 69-62 road win over Boston University, where she scored 19 points by sinking six of her eleven field goal attempts—all from beyond the arc. She hit a critical three-pointer late in the fourth quarter to help secure the victory. The senior guard also chipped in three assists and grabbed two rebounds, showing her value extends beyond scoring.
Dominating the Patriot League: A Two-Game Shooting Clinic
Her momentum carried into Saturday’s matchup with American University, where Ericson exploded for a season-best 21 points, knocking down 7 of 10 shots from deep. That mark was the second-highest number of three-pointers she’s made in a single game in her collegiate career, and her best this season.
Climbing the National Rankings: One of the Country’s Elite Sharpshooters
The Road to the Top Spot Nationally
Across her previous three games, Ericson has hit 19 of 34 shots from three-point territory, underscoring her as one of the country’s elite sharpshooters. She leads the Patriot League with 78 made threes this season, which also places her 10th in the nation in total makes and seventh in threes per game at 3.12. With just 12 more, she could reach the top spot nationally.
Leading the Black Knights into the 2026 Star Game
This week’s honor is the second for Ericson this season and the fourth for an Army Black Knights player in 2025–26. Her leadership and shooting have been central to the Black Knights’ progress as they look ahead to two crucial home games: Loyola Maryland on Wednesday, and the highly anticipated matchup against archrival Navy on Saturday.
With Ericson’s hot hand guiding the way, Army is gaining momentum and national attention heading into the critical final phase of the regular season.
