EASTON, PA — Army West Point women’s basketball found its rhythm — and its range — Saturday afternoon at Kirby Sports Center, knocking down 10 3-pointers to power past Lafayette 62–50.
Army improved to 18–5 overall and 9–3 in the Patriot League, extending its win streak to two and continuing a strong road season that now includes nine away victories.
Ericson catches fire (and climbs the record book)
Senior guard Reese Ericson delivered the difference-maker: six 3-pointers and a game-high 18 points, with every point coming from beyond the arc.
Her fifth triple of the day was also the 247th made three of her career, moving her into sole possession of fifth all-time in Patriot League history — and keeping her firmly in second on Army’s career list.

How it happened
Army’s offense started slowly, falling behind early and trailing 19–11 after one quarter as Lafayette closed the period on a 6–0 run.
The game flipped in the second.
After early threes from Taylor Wilson and Camryn Tade sparked life, Army closed the half on a decisive 14–4 run to take a 38–33 lead into the break. Ericson buried three triples during that stretch, while Tade poured in nine points in the quarter.
Army shot 55.6% in the second period and went 7-for-10 from three — its sharpest offensive quarter in weeks.
Lafayette made one more push after halftime, tying the game 41–41 midway through the third. Ericson answered immediately with her record-book three, and Army never trailed again.
The Black Knights finished the third on a 6–0 run to take a 50–43 lead, then opened the fourth with early buckets from Kya Smith to create separation. Ericson drilled her sixth three right out of a timeout, and Army controlled the closing minutes.

What stood out
This one was about shot quality and sharing. Army assisted on nearly everything it made, and every Black Knight who played recorded at least one assist — a clean indicator of the ball movement that’s been the team’s identity at its best.
And when the game tightened in the third, Army’s response was immediate: Ericson’s record-setting three, then a defensive clampdown that turned a tie game into a comfortable finish.
