Noah Eile Transferring to Bristol City

The third centerback to be traded, released, or transferred out of the club

Harrison, NJ- Reported from Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano and confirmed by J.J. Pavlick and Joe Pantorno, Swedish Youth International Centerback Noah Eile is being transferred from Red Bull New York to Bristol City, currently in the EFL Championship of England, as they are making strides toward promotion to the Premier League. With this move, the Red Bulls are now down to two veteran centerbacks, Tim Parker and Dylan Nealis.

Eile’s short Red Bulls Career

Since transferring from Malmö FF of the Swedish Allsvenskan two seasons ago, Eile became that perfect partner on the backline in the center of the pitch, teaming up with Sean Nealis. Both men were defending well, and when they needed to go to five in the back with Andres Reyes, Eile was able to roam freely and added some offense to his defending prowess. He was able to move up past the midfielders and created chances for his teammates, or he attempted chances for himself.

He started 56 of the 59 matches played and scored a goal and three assists. He was issued 14 yellow cards and was only sent off once. His lone goal was in the 2025 season, when he headed in the winning goal off his head from the far post on the corner to defeat CF Montreal at Red Bull Arena/Sports Illustrated Stadium on April 26th. In his first match of the 2024 season, Eile delivered a fabulous pass toward Dante Vanzier, leading him into an attacking run against Nashville SC.

MLS Winter Transfer Window is Open

The MLS Winter Transfer Window has been open since Monday, January 26th, and as of right now, there is a giant hole at centerback on the back line. While Dylan and Tim Parker are good veterans, the truth is that Parker is no longer the hard-nosed starter at this point in his career. Trading out Sean Neails, parting ways with Alexander Hack, and now Eile is on his way out to England, this is not the dynamic change we were expecting from the recently announced new member of the class of 2026 Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame.

Are DeGuzman’s plans for defense improving?

Director of Sport Julian DeGuzman, who has made some moves bringing over Justin Che, Cade Cowell, and Robert Voloder, has now created an issue that wasn’t there for the last several years. While there seems to be an upgrade toward the attacking vision of DeGuzman, where is that defending vision that right now is lacking? While Voloder seems like a good fit and Raheem Edwards is also remaining, why has the club sent Marcelo Morales back to Chile for a one-year loan with his old club?

While the season hasn’t started yet, and their first part of their preseason has come to an end in Bradenton, Florida, Red Bull New York at this point has a big question mark hovering over Sports Illustrated Stadium. Until they make moves in this transfer window and shore up the backline, the feeling is that more goals will be in their net than away from it. We have three weeks before the regular season begins on February 21st in Orlando against Orlando City.

Time will tell, but right now, the start of Michael Bradley’s first season as the head coach of the senior side might start a bit rocky, and DeGuzman could play a part in it. Just have to hope they can find the right players in the transfer market to improve the centerback position and give some positive feelings again for this new season.
