A partnership to name the training facility
Harrison, NJ- Red Bull New York and RWJBarnabus Health have signed a partnership agreement for the naming rights of the brand new Training facility that will be located in Morris Township, New Jersey. The RWJBarnabas Health Red Bulls Performance Center will be the new training home for both Red Bull New York in MLS, Red Bull New York II in MLS Next Pro, all youth teams, and as the club’s healthcare provider for the Performance Center and at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison.
What the new facility has
Moving from their original training facility in Whippany, with three natural grass pitches and a Field Turf pitch, will be moving Southwest to Morris Township, as they are nearly finished with construction of a facility that’s on 80 acres, which will include eight full-size outdoor soccer pitches, with a mix of heated, irrigated natural grass and turf surfaces. One will have a 500-seat match field designated for Academy games.
During training, the outdoor areas will be equipped with advanced training technology. For the use of analytics and player development, as they will have multi-angle camera tracking systems. This facility will also be the home for the Red Bull Academy and the Youth programs.
The main building will have fully-equipped gyms for both professional and Academy teams, a dining hall with nutrition spaces with a professional chef, academic spaces for youth education, and a comprehensive medical suite and innovation lab with physiotherapy spaces for preparation, rehabilitation, and recovery. The new training facility is scheduled to open in March 2026.
Remembering former facilities to now
When I started covering the Red Bulls, they used Montclair State University’s Dioguardi Field for their training facility. Next to them was the Softball Stadium, and above the hill was their baseball stadium and their ice hockey arena. When they opened their first training facility, seeing the two gray buildings with the blue panels on the side near the roof told me they were ready for a big move.
The trips I made to cover the club for a preview article felt like an adventure driving around the local towns of East Hanover and Whippany, to reach the buildings was awesome, and walking around toward the training pitches was a wonderful sight to see. Viewing the players during drills under Jesse Marsch, Chris Armas, and others.
I am excited to see this progression from borrowing a local university, to the Whippany location, to now the brand new RWJBarnabus Health Red Bull Performance Center. Once that ribbon is cut and we check out the new facility with multiple fields, the feeling of progress and next level will be there for all of us to see. This is an exciting time for the club.
