Rainbow cross, beautiful finish
The first goal of the match came to the home side as the Hungarians attacked down the far side. Zsolt Nagy ran along the touchline and delivered a rainbow cross that landed perfectly toward Barnabas Varga, and with a quick one-time strike, beat the keeper in the 21st minute.
Portugal equalizes, questions of offside
Portugal was buzzing around the Hungarian area, trying to equalize the match. They did find a way to score, as the ball was passed around, Joao Cancelo made a nice pass to Bernardo Silva, who scored a quick shot to level the match at one. There was a VAR review to check for offside, but the goal stood in the 36th minute.

Ronaldo does it again
As Hungary tried to defend against a relentless Portugal, a cross from the near side came into the area. Unfortunately, it was handled by a Hungarian defender, and the referee blew his whistle and pointed to the spot. Cristiano Ronaldo stutter-stepped, then smashed the ball inside the far post to take the lead in the 58th minute.
Varga does it again
Hungary was looking for the equalizer and found it as they leveled the score at two. Attacking down the far side this time was Loic Nego, running down the touchline, who delivered a fantastic cross to Barnabus Varga and scored his second of the match in the 84th minute.

Winning goal on an easy interception
Two minutes later, Portugal got a gift as the Hungarian defender made a poor pass. Bernardo Silva intercepted the ball and made a quick pass to Joao Cancelo. Cancelo wasted no time and buried his chance past the keeper in the 86th minute to secure the victory and take the top spot in Group F with six points.
