Washington, D.C. (07/21/2023) – Washington Spirit midfielder Bayley Feist has been activated from the 45-day injury (D45) list, the club announced today. Feist sustained a lower leg injury during a training session earlier this season and was tagged with the D45 designation twice, making here eligible to return this month. She will travel with the team to North Carolina this weekend.
Starting each of the Spirit’s first two matches this season before her injury, Feist brought her career regular season totals to 1,848 minutes across 36 appearances (18 starts). All competitions included, Feist has tallied 2,650 minutes of action, three goals and three assists over 49 matches.
Like her teammate Huster, who is also coming off the injury list (season-ending) to join the club she too will be a depth player off the bench for the Spirit in 2023. Look for Feist to battle for a spot in the starting XI come training camp and preseason games in 2024.
Feist, who is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, was drafted by the Spirit with the 17th overall pick in the 2019 NWSL College Draft. Before beginning her professional career, Feist attended Wake Forest University where she played four seasons with the Demon Deacons. Earning Third Team and Second Team All-ACC honors in 2017 and 2018, respectively, Feist netted 22 goals and added ten assists over her 78 matches played.
