The Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean Football has announced its two-legged quarterfinal schedule for the eight National Teams that will participate in the November International Window in League A for the right to reach the Semi-Finals and possibly play in either the Third Place Match or the Championship Final of the 2026-27 CONCACAF Nations League. The top four-ranked national teams will face the top two teams in Group A & Group B to earn tickets to Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, California, during the March 2027 International Window.
How the teams got there
The top four ranked teams in Canada, Mexico, Panama, and the USA were given an automatic berth to the quarterfinals, while the four national teams that played in their group stage matches qualified by reaching the top two positions in each group. Curaçao took the top spot in Group A with an unbeaten record of three wins and a draw after a comeback win over Costa Rica, followed by a home win over Nicaragua, then edging Trinidad & Tobago by one goal, and then traveling to Port of Spain for a one-goal draw.
Haiti was neck and neck with the Dominican Republic on the same record and points. They edged Trinidad & Tobago, then beat Costa Rica on a two-goal clean-sheet victory, faced the Dominican Republic on the road and beat them with a four goals to one victory, but lost in their final match to a resurgent Costa Rica after they sacked their new head coach and replaced him with former National Team player Bryan Ruiz.
Guatemala got off to a rocky start, losing to Jamaica at the Office in Kingston, then returned home to take out El Salvador with a six-goal clean-sheet thrashing that was coming after their loss to the Reggae Boys. Their next two matches saw Luis Tena’s side battle Suriname in the home and away matches with a scoreless draw, then a one-goal victory that pushed out Suriname, who had the lead, then lost it in Group B and fell to third place and into the Gold Cup Qualifiers.
Jamaica started off strong with a three-goals to two win at home against Guatemala, but had a bad night at home when they allowed one goal and were defended very well by Honduras, making history for that Central American side to grab their first win at the Office. Then their last two games were on the road as Jamaica defeated El Salvador with a two-goals-to-one win, but away at Honduras, the point was enough to secure second place and a spot in the Quarterfinals.
