New York Jets Cornerback Quan’Tez Stiggers collapsed on the sidelines during a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as both teams will open their preseason at MetLife Stadium this coming Friday. He was transported to the hospital, where he recovered and was released, heading back home for the rest of the day. He was given an IV on the sidelines as the training staff was there to quickly respond to him and was stretchered off. Both teams at the time halted practice to allow the medical trainers to attend to Stiggers.
“Our guys did a hell of a job. Just like most medical staffs around this league do in situations like that, and they took the necessary steps just to make sure that we do everything we can to be on board when it comes to those situations,” Said Head Coach Aaron Glenn. “He was able to talk. I want to make sure that I go and see him after this just to make sure I’m good with everything, but for the most part, he was good.”
Hopefully, Stiggers will be able to continue with joint practice, or they will give him another day of rest and have him ready for their first preseason game this coming Friday.
