Captain Hilary Knight keeps scoring, and Team USA keeps stacking wins.
The U.S. Olympic women’s hockey team stayed perfect in group play Saturday with a 5–0 shutout of Finland, powered by two more special-teams goals, a massive shot advantage, and another milestone moment from its longtime leader.
Knight, a five-time Olympian, scored for the second straight game to tie the U.S. Olympic women’s hockey record with her 14th career Olympic goal, matching Natalie Darwitz and Katie King. Her power-play finish made it 4–0, and the Americans closed out the win with a late even-strength goal.
The United States has now outscored Czechia and Finland 9–1 through two games.
How it happened
First period: Carpenter opens the scoring again
For the second game in a row, Alex Carpenter got Team USA on the board first.
At 15:19, Carpenter scored a power-play goal off assists from Laila Edwards and Megan Keller to put the U.S. up 1–0.
Second period: Three-goal surge
Team USA blew the game open in the second with three goals in a span of under seven minutes.
- 22:31: Taylor Heise scored at even strength, assisted by Abbey Murphy and Britta Curl, making it 2–0.
- 23:37: Megan Keller added an even-strength goal to extend the lead to 3–0.
- 29:17: Hilary Knight converted on the power play, assisted by Edwards and Keller, pushing the margin to 4–0.

At 55:56, Abbey Murphy scored at even strength off assists from Curl and Caroline Harvey to seal the 5–0 final.
