Michael Bradley is set with his new coaching staff
Harrison, NJ- Red Bull New York Head Coach Michael Bradley has filled the positions for his coaching staff for the 2026 season, as he added Mike Sorber, along with mainstays Ibrahim Sekagya and goalkeeper coach Jeremy Proud. These men will be the brain trust that will assist Bradley in turning the season around and having a better start than what happened last year.
Mike Sorber’s coaching career
When Mike Sorber ended his playing career, he went into coaching. The St. Louis, Missouri, native began at the college ranks as an assistant coach with the St. Louis Billikens in 2001. Then became part of the US Men’s National Team as an assistant in 2007. Went to CF Montreal for a year in 2012. Took a hiatus, but went back into coaching with Los Angeles FC in 2017, then moved to Toronto FC as an assistant coach and Technical Director in 2022. Last season, he was with St. Louis City SC, working in their academy.

He understands players, builds strong relationships, and uses those experiences to coach effectively,” said Head Coach Michael Bradley. “We’re also thrilled to have Ibra and Jeremy returning. Their leadership, professionalism, and commitment to our players set the standard every day, and having them back will be a major asset as we pursue our goals.”
Mike Sorber’s playing career
Mike began his professional career with Liga MX’s UNAM Pumas in 1994, before making the move to Major League Soccer at Sporting Kansas City (Then the Kansas City Wizards) in 1996. Then he played for the MetroStars for three seasons from 1997 through 1999, then moved to the Chicago Fire for one season in 2000.
Sorber was also part of the U.S. Men’s National Team, making 67 appearances, and was on the 1994 World Cup team that was hosted on home soil in the United States.
Ibrahim Sekagya
After playing for the club for two seasons, including helping them win their first Supporters Shield in the 2013 season. Ibrahim Sekagya retired and stayed with the club to begin his coaching career as an assistant coach for the start of New York Red Bulls ||. From 2015, he was the assistant to multiple head coaches until he got the head coaching job in 2022.
In his first season at MLS Next Pro, Sekagya compiled a record of 14 wins, eight losses, and six draws. and made the playoffs. Last season, Sekgaya led the club to a great start in MLS Next Pro play until he accepted his promotion to the first team as an assistant under Sandro Schwarz, allowing Michael Bradley to take over as head coach of Red Bull II. Now he is the full-time assistant coach for the senior side.
Jeremy Proud
Returning for his fourth season as the Goalkeeper coach for the organization, Jeremy Proud, who was the goalkeepers coach at Red Bulls II and their academy. Before joining the club, he was the goalkeepers coach in college soccer at the University of Akron, University of Louisville, Loyola University of Chicago, and SIUE for 14 years. He was a goalkeeper’s coach at the Chicago Fire Soccer Academy and at St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club.
The preseason is already underway, and now it’s time for these men to help this roster to perform and get better as the 2026 season will begin very soon.
