The Red Bulls II midfielder will stay and get promoted to the senior side
Harrison, NJ- Red Bull New York has officially completed the transfer of midfielder Nehuen Benedetti from Club Estudiantes de la Plata of the Primera Division in Argentina. He will be promoted from the 2025 MLS Next Pro League Champions to the senior side starting this upcoming season and has signed a four-year deal till the end of the 2029 season, with an option for the 2030 season. The club will use an International roster spot.
Benedetti’s Red Bulls II career
He came on loan at the start of the 2025 season and was playing for Red Bulls II. He made 29 appearances and scored 11 goals with seven assists. Benedetti helped guide the club to a strong finish in the MLS Next Pro Regular season, giving them a home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Defeating the Colorado Rapids 2 side in the MLS Next Pro Final at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
He was named to the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI and became the second player in franchise history to join that team. He was given the MLS Next Pro Player of the Month award in June for his four goals and three assists, and his full-season goal totals were tied for second in club history with Tom Barlow.
“Nehuen [Benedetti] has shown a great development over the last year with Red Bull New York II and delivered a big season in 2025,” said Head of Sport Julian de Guzman. “He has earned this opportunity with our first team, and we are looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish next season.”

Before coming to the Red Bulls on loan, Benedetti played for Estudiantes for the last two seasons with the club, as the Basque, Argentine native played five matches with the senior side, while playing with their second team, making 27 appearances, scoring three goals, and having two assists.
“Nehuen is the type of player who wants to get better every single day,” said Head Coach Michael Bradley. “His work rate is excellent, and we are looking forward to giving him this opportunity with our first team.”
