The Richardson, Texas native transfers to Harrison
Harrison, NJ- On Tuesday, December 16th, the New York Red Bulls officially signed Right Fullback Justin Che to a three-year deal with an option year in 2029. The American transferred over from Brondby IF of the Danish Superliga, who spent three seasons with the club, including two separate loan stints with ADO Den Haag and Patro Eisden.
Che’s playing history
Justin Che began his career signing with FC Dallas as a homegrown player from 2020 to the 2023 season. Started with Dallas’s North Texas SC at the time in USL League One. He made 16 appearances with an assist and earned USL League One All-League honors in 2020. In 2021, he went on loan to Bayern Munich II in Germany, played eight games, and returned to FC Dallas on June 15th, 2021.
He made 15 appearances, tallying three assists, and got his first MLS assist in a 4-0 win over Los Angeles Galaxy on July 24, 2021. Went on loan to TSG Hoffenheim in 2022, made two appearances, then played for their second team and made 24 appearances, scoring a goal and an assist.
“Justin [Che] is a versatile player that has vast experience both overseas and in MLS, and we are pleased to have him join our organization,” said Head of Sport Julian de Guzman. “He is an exciting, young player who will bring energy to our team, and we are looking forward to seeing him with our group soon.”
Youth National Team career
Che was a member of several youth national teams with U.S. Soccer. He has made appearances with the U-16s and the U-20s. Made 10 appearances with the U-20s and was a part of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup, as he was part of the team that went to the quarterfinals and scored a goal over New Zealand in Argentina.
“Justin is an intelligent defender who has great speed and will help add to our backline this upcoming season,” said Head Coach Michael Bradley. “He has played a lot of minutes all across Europe and will be another great person to add to our roster to help our club accomplish its goals.”
