The loss in Jacksonville was the last straw
Florham Park, NJ- After the flight back home from a terrible loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Head Coach Aaron Glenn woke up this Monday Morning, December 15th, to inform his Defensive Coordinator Steve Wilkes that he will no longer be needed for his services and has named Defensive Backs & Pass Game Coordinator Chris Harris his interim.
Problems on defense
After allowing six touchdowns to the Jaguars and making no adjustments to prevent all the play-action passes, the Jaguars were converting on the field. Glenn had to make a decision and let go of the man he hired to start his rookie season as the head coach.
“I relieved Steve Wilk from his duties this morning. As our defensive coordinator, Chris Harris will actually be handling some of those duties. Right now, I will be helping him as he progresses through the week, as our coordinator and everybody else will stay the same.
This decision that I made late last night, and I talked to him this morning, and I felt like it was the best decision for the organization at this time. And I’ve said this all along. That I’m evaluating players, I’m evaluating coaches, I’m evaluating myself. And I just felt like this was the best decision for right now for the team and for this organization,” said Aaron Glenn
The Jets will prepare this week for their road game against the New Orleans Saints for their Week 16 matchup at the Caesars Superdome.
