The final six nations from across the globe to face each other for the last two spots
Zurich, Switzerland- On Friday, November 21st, FIFA officially announced its schedule for the Intercontinental playoffs to give six national teams the chance to earn the final two spots for the FIFA World Cup this coming March, International Window of 2026. Six Nations in five of the six confederations will battle for two spots.
Thursday’s Playoff Draw
At the home of FIFA, they had their draw for both the intercontinental playoffs and the European Playoffs. Two pots were drawn, the top two-ranked nations in Iraq of AFC (Asia) and Congo DR of CAF (Africa) will await the winners of the first playoff match, as Bolivia of CONMEBOL (South America) will face Suriname of CONCACAF (Caribbean Zone), and the winner will play Iraq. Jamaica of CONCACAF (Caribbean Zone) will face New Caledonia of OFC (Oceania), and the winner will play Congo DR.

The Schedule and location
All playoff matches will be played in Mexico in two different stadiums. Estadio BBVA en Monterrey and Estadio Akron en Guadalajara. The semi-finals for both matches will be on Thursday, March 28th, and Tuesday, March 31st, and will have both finals.
Pathway one has New Caledonia, Jamaica & Congo DR in Guadalajara, while Pathway two has Bolivia, Suriname & Iraq in Monterrey. We will learn where to watch these matches that will be broadcast at a later date sometime next year.
