The full Roster for the 100th season of New York Rangers Hockey
New York, NY- The New York Rangers are ready to open their Centennial Season as they begin at home at the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden, when they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at 8 PM during a triple header on ESPN.
Noah Laba is on the roster
Surprise rookie Noah Laba, who finished his college hockey at Colorado College, then went to the Hartford Wolfpack before coming to Training Camp, was spectacular during the preseason as he compiled two goals and four assists, one of the goals was scored on the power play, and one assist was during a shorthanded chance. Laba also won the Lars-Erik Sjoberg award for the best rookie in training camp.
J.T. Miller begins his Captaincy
When J.T. Miller was traded back to the Rangers from the Vancouver Canucks last season, many didn’t think he would earn the ‘C’ on his jersey; some thought it would’ve gone to Vincent Trocheck. Head Coach Mike Sullivan and President & General Manager Chris Drury felt he was the one to lead the team out on the ice.
Gavrikov is the new partner for Adam Fox
After Ryan Lindgren was traded out of the club to Colorado, many were wondering who the Rangers would either bring up or bring over in free agency to help Adam Fox as a defensive unit. Vladislav Gavrikov, who has been a strong defensive defenseman for the Los Angeles Kings, now joins Fox as the top defensive pairing.
Rebounding from last year.
After a horrible collapse in the middle and backend of last season, the Rangers need to have a better season all the way around. With some new faces mixed in with the old ones, they must show their fans and the NHL that last season was a big bump that won’t happen again.
