KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – In a heart-stopping, lead-changing battle that will be remembered for years, the sixth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs emerged victorious against the 15th-ranked Tennessee Volunteers, winning 44-41 in overtime at a packed Neyland Stadium on Saturday night.

The contest was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both teams trading blows in a game that epitomized the intensity of SEC football. Tennessee roared to an early 21-7 lead, seemingly in complete control, before Georgia clawed its way back into contention.

Redshirt junior quarterback Gunner Stockton proved his mettle, completing 23 of 31 passes for a career-high 304 yards and two touchdowns. His most critical play came with 2:32 remaining, when he connected with London Humphreys on a 28-yard touchdown on fourth down, followed by a crucial two-point conversion to Zachariah Branch that tied the game at 38-38.
“I think right now he steps back, it’s hard to pass pro for a quarterback that goes back and does those things, but he’s growing up and getting better,” Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said.

Tennessee quarterback Joey Aguilar was equally impressive, starting the game a perfect 14-for-14 and finishing with 371 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Chris Brazzell II was a standout, recording a career-high 177 yards and three touchdowns.
