The Vikings are turning to veteran help as they open the 2026 season. Minnesota elevated linebacker Kyle Van Noy and running back DeeJay Dallas from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s Week 1 showdown with the Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Van Noy, entering his 13th NFL season, signed with Minnesota on September 2 and immediately stepped into a familiar system. He overlapped with Defensive Coordinator Brian Flores in both New England and Miami, winning two Super Bowls and becoming one of the league’s most dependable multipurpose linebackers. At 35, he still brings edge pressure, off‑ball versatility, and leadership to a room anchored by Andrew Van Ginkel and rookie Dallas Turner.
Dallas, who turns 28 next week, adds depth behind Ty Chandler and a proven special teams presence. Across stops in Seattle, Arizona, Carolina, and Jacksonville, he’s logged more than 1,300 special teams snaps and produced one of the league’s most memorable return plays—a 96‑yard kickoff touchdown for the Cardinals in 2024. His ability to contribute as a runner, receiver, and returner gives Minnesota flexibility as they finalize their early‑season rotation.
Both players are set to make their Vikings debuts Sunday afternoon as Minnesota looks to start the year with a divisional win and set the tone in a competitive NFC North.
