Red Bull New York secured a loan deal with Inter Miami as they brought over Honduran International Midfielder David Ruiz for the remainder of the 2026 MLS Season. There is an option to buy Ruiz if the Red Bulls wish to do so towards the end of the loan deal, and sending $75,000 of General Allocation Money back to Miami to make the move permanent.
“We are excited to welcome David to Red Bull New York, and we look forward to helping him to take the next step in his career,” said Head of Sport Julian de Guzman. “David is a talented midfielder who brings a combination of technical quality and competitiveness to the group, and has already gained valuable MLS experience, and we believe his profile fits very well with the way we want to play.”
The Miami native has spent the last four seasons with his hometown club and played 82 games across all competitions, scoring four goals and four assists. Was part of the 2025 MLS Cup Championship, the 2024 Supporters’ Shield, and won the inaugural Leagues Cup in a penalty shootout at Nashville SC. He joined the Inter Miami Academy in the 2021 season and played for Inter Miami in two teams: first in USL League One, then in MLS Next Pro after it was created, playing in 22 matches and earning two assists.
“David is a player who can impact the game in a lot of different ways. He has the ability to play forward, cover ground, compete, and make things happen with the ball,” said Head Coach Michael Bradley. “We are excited about the opportunity to work with him, and we believe he can be an important addition to the group.”
