The New York Knicks returned to the Xfinity Mobile Arena to finish the job they started, and from the start to the end, they dominated the Philadelphia 76ers on their own floor and had plenty of help from their own fans dominating the arena as well. They broke through with multiple three-pointers and played amazing defense against their hosts. The Knicks were locked in and never let up a single inch as they took down and brought their brooms to sweep the Sixers, as the final score of Game 4 was 144-114
There was no stopping the Knicks as they were ready to go once the Sixers had the opening lead after winning the opening tip. From that point on, the Orange and Blue of the Knicks just tormented the Sixers pillar to post up and down the floor. The Sixers had no answers, and when the second quarter began, more miscommunication and poor play just summed up this entire series. Deuce McBride led all scorers with 25 Points and went 5 for 5 behind the three-point line in the first half. Jalen Brunson was the second Knicks scorer with 22 points, Karl Anthony Towns had a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists, and Landry Shamet led the bench with 12 points. Joel Embiid led all Sixers with 24 Points.
First Half: The Knicks Explode at the Start and Break Records
The Knicks came out dominating the Sixers from the get-go. After a quick 2-0 lead by Philadelphia, the Knicks poured it on, tying an NBA Playoff Record, hitting 11 three-pointers inside a single quarter. Deuce McBride was perfect, hitting all four three-pointers. Brunson went 3 for 4, Landry Shamet went two for three off the bench. The Sixers had no answers for the Knicks, missing shots or bad passes, but they started to calm down and converted their shots. The Knicks had a 27-point lead with eight minutes remaining in the second quarter.
The Sixers were able to chip away at the deficit, but they couldn’t get it below 20 points. The Knicks continued to play their game, with timely buckets, multiple offensive rebounds, and huge three-pointers to keep a large lead from slipping away. The Knicks continued dropping three-pointers like it was hot and tied another NBA Playoffs Record with 18 three-pointers inside the first half. More from Brunson, Hart, and McBride as they continued to execute from behind the three-point line. While Karl Anthony Towns got into foul trouble again, his teammates picked up the slack and converted.
Second Half: The Domination continues and tied another playoff record
Throughout the entire second half, the Knicks continued to dominate the Sixers and never took their foot off the gas. Once again, they reached and went over 100 points at the 6:25 mark in the third quarter with a 102-73 lead. They continued to find the spots on the floor and converted jumpers. Towards the end of the third quarter, the Knicks took out all their starters and brought out their bench players to finish the game, and had the entire fourth quarter to clean up the mess. The Knicks tied an NBA Playoff Record for the most Three-pointers made in a game with 25. The Knicks made a new team record with their seventh straight playoff victory.
