Army West Point sophomore Jack Ivey earned Atlantic Hockey America “Forward of the Week,” the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. It’s Ivey’s first time earning the award in his collegiate career. This marks the second consecutive week that an Army player has won the award, following junior captain Barron Woodring last week.
“Jack has played outstanding recently and continues to make an impact in our games,” Head Coach Zach McKelvie said, “He’s a player that can change a game, so we are proud that he is being recognized.”
Ivey won this award thanks to four points (1 goal and 2 Assists) in Army’s first series victory of the season over the Sacred Heart Pioneers.

In the past five games, Zach McKelvie has Ivey playing on a line with Barron Woodring and Vincent Salice. Since being put together, this trio has been critical to Army’s success.
Salice said it has been “fun” playing alongside Ivey following Saturday night’s 2-0 road victory over the Pioneers.
Yeah, I mean it’s a team game right now. We’re playing the right way and playing with Jivey [Jack Ivey] and Woody [Woodring], they’re fantastic players to play with, so it’s been really fun, and it’s been good to feed off them and they’re making unbelievable plays right now. So, they’re having success and as a team, we have success, so it’s, it’s really fun to play with them.
Through seventeen games into his sophomore season, Jack Ivey is second on the team in points (13), tied for the most assists (9), and second in shots (44), scoring on 9.1% of those shots. Jack is playing like one of the better players in the AHA. His play could see him receiving conference All-American honors after the season.
Ivey and the Black Knights will be back in action this Friday. The team travels to Hanover, New Hampshire, to take on the 8th-ranked Dartmouth Big Green. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and can be viewed on ESPN+.
