“It was a tough first half for us. I was a little frustrated with how we came out, but I thought we did a really good job in the second half of picking up our intensity level, our competitiveness and defense,” Tartamella said. “We have to learn to be that way for 40 minutes if we want to continue improving.”

Moore credited the halftime adjustments for the dramatic turnaround.
“In the first half, we didn’t play how we usually do. We weren’t aggressive. We didn’t play our style of basketball,” Moore said. “At halftime, Coach just really emphasized playing our style of basketball, being aggressive, running the floor, and just executing our plays.”
Lavelle echoed Moore’s assessment, highlighting the defensive improvements.
“Defensively in the first half, we weren’t all there. I feel like we came out in the second half and were game-focused for the rest of the night,” Lavelle said.
