The Two has one more match before heading to the playoffs
East Hanover, NJ- New York Red Bulls II are about to finish off their regular season in MLS Next Pro, as they are excited to face Toronto FC II at Montclair State University Stadium in Montclair, NJ. Currently tied with Philadelphia Union II for the top spot in the Eastern Conference, but they have the advantage in a higher number of total points earned.
Toronto is flexible with the backline
Depending on what Toronto FC II will do facing Red Bulls II, they will try to surprise them, depending on what their back line setup will be. This team will find a way to knock the club off its top spot, just to play spoiler.
“They’re a little bit flexible in terms of how they play in certain moments. It can be three in the back. It can be four in the back. Depending on the game and depending on the opponent, I think they make their decisions in terms of how they want to build, how they want to defend, but ultimately, it’s a good team.
They’re well coached. They have good players. And we expect a game against a good team that is now fighting for its season. They’ll always have their ideas about how they want to build a game with the ball. They’ll always make sure that they have good width, players in half spaces, obviously, if Adisa (De Rosario) plays, he gives them good ability with the ball as well. It’s a team that we know will challenge us in good ways,” said head coach Michael Bradley.
Finishing the season strong
Red Bulls II last two matches saw them draw and lose to Inter Miami II in penalties, then lose their last match to FC Cincinnati 2. They hope to have a strong finish to the regular season. They want to have a strong chance at that MLS Next Pro Title since they won the USL many years ago.
‘We’ve played large stretches of these last two games quite well. The football, the ideas, our way that we step up on teams. There’s been a lot of really positive things. We’ve gone up 1-0 in both games and have had big chances to get the second goal.
We haven’t been able to. And then we have lost concentration, not been able to deal with certain moments, in some key moments. So that part has hurt us. But we continue to move ourselves along. We feel good about the progress that we’re making, and we’re excited to finish off the regular season with a lot on the line and then be ready as we move into the playoffs to raise our level even higher.”
Tanner Rosborough is ready for TFC II
Tanner Rosborough is ready to go for the playoffs; he’s ready to finish off the season as well. He’s had a strong game the last time facing TFC II, as he scored three goals against them in his career. Now he wants to finish off what he started and end the regular season on a high note.
“I would say the biggest thing for us is we want that first-place spot, and we’ll do what we have to get there. And of course, we want to, we want to be able to play every single playoff game. We want to play the finals, everything. We want to play it all at home, in front of our fans. So I think that’s our big motivation. We want to be the team that wins in the Eastern Conference like no one can take that away from you,” said Rosborough
Time for Red Bulls II to finish what they started, and let’s see Head Coach Michael Bradley lead them to a big playoff run toward the final.
