NEW YORK, NY — The New York Knicks have completed their training camp roster, announcing the signings of nine players across Exhibit 9 and Exhibit 10 contracts as the organization prepares for the 2025-26 NBA season.
The moves signal the Knicks’ commitment to building depth and competition throughout the roster, blending veteran experience with promising young talent as training camp approaches.
Veteran Leadership: Malcolm Brogdon Returns to New York
The most notable addition is Malcolm Brogdon, who signed an Exhibit 9 contract with the Knicks. The 32-year-old guard (6-4, 229 pounds) brings a wealth of playoff experience and leadership to a Knicks team with championship aspirations.
Brogdon appeared in 24 games (13 starts) with the Washington Wizards last season, recording 12.7 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.8 rebounds over 23.5 minutes. His résumé speaks for itself: 2022-23 NBA Sixth Man of the Year, 2016-17 NBA Rookie of the Year, and member of the exclusive 50-40-90 club during the 2018-19 season with Milwaukee.
That historic campaign saw Brogdon average 15.6 points on 50.5-percent shooting from the field, 42.6-percent from three-point range, and 92.8-percent from the free-throw line—making him one of only nine players in NBA history to achieve that milestone. He also led the league in free-throw percentage that season.
The Atlanta native holds career averages of 15.3 points (46.3% FG; 38.8% 3PT), 4.7 assists, and 4.1 rebounds over 29.1 minutes in 463 games across nine seasons with the Bucks, Pacers, Celtics, Trail Blazers, and Wizards.
Originally selected by Milwaukee with the 36th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft out of Virginia, Brogdon was a Consensus First-Team All-American and ACC Player of the Year as a senior. The University of Virginia has since retired his jersey number, 15.
Sharpshooting Depth: Shamet, Mathews, and Ryan Return
The Knicks also re-signed Landry Shamet to an Exhibit 9 contract, bringing back a familiar face who provided crucial three-point shooting off the bench last season.
Shamet, 28 (6-4, 190 pounds), averaged 5.7 points (46.1% FG; 39.7% 3PT), 1.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.2 three-pointers over 15.2 minutes in 50 games for New York last season. His season-high 29 points against Brooklyn on April 13 marked the third time a Knick scored 20-plus points off the bench last season.
In the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers, Shamet recorded 5.8 points and 1.8 assists over 13.3 minutes off the bench, showcasing his ability to contribute in high-pressure playoff situations.
The Kansas City native was originally selected 26th overall by Philadelphia in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Wichita State. Over seven NBA seasons, he holds career averages of 8.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 40.2 percent from three-point range.
Garrison Mathews signed an Exhibit 10 contract, adding another proven three-point threat to the roster. The 28-year-old (6-6, 215 pounds) averaged 7.5 points (39.0% 3PT), 1.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.8 three-pointers over 17.7 minutes in 47 games for the Atlanta Hawks last season.
Mathews’ season-high 25 points against Minnesota on December 23 made him the second player in the NBA last season to finish a contest with at least 25 points on 85.0-percent-or-better three-point shooting (minimum seven 3PT). The six-year veteran holds career averages of 6.5 points (38.2% 3PT) over 314 games with Washington, Houston, and Atlanta.
The Franklin, Tennessee native was the 2019 Atlantic Sun Player of the Year at Lipscomb, where he finished as the school’s all-time leading scorer in the Division I era with 2,478 points.
Matt Ryan, a Valhalla, New York native, signed an Exhibit 10 contract to return to his home-state team. The 28-year-old (6-6, 215 pounds) appeared in nine games with the Knicks last season and was selected first overall in the 2024 NBA G League draft by the Westchester Knicks.
Ryan recorded a career-high 20 points on 70 percent shooting with six three-pointers against Detroit on November 2, 2023. Over three NBA seasons, he holds career averages of 3.7 points while shooting 40.2 percent from beyond the arc in 82 games with Boston, the Lakers, Minnesota, New Orleans, and New York.

Pate spent the 2024-25 season with the Mexico City Capitanes of the NBA G League, averaging 10.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists over 26.9 minutes in 34 games (all starts). After graduating high school a year early, the Dallas native became the youngest professional basketball player in U.S. history when he signed with the NBA G League Ignite, forgoing college basketball entirely.
Bryson Warren signed an Exhibit 10 contract after a productive season in the G League. The 20-year-old guard (6-3, 174 pounds) averaged 11.0 points, 3.7 assists, and 2.6 rebounds over 23.3 minutes in 49 games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Miami’s G League affiliate, last season.

The Paris native won the EuroCup championship with Paris Basketball during the 2023-24 season, showcasing his winning pedigree and international experience.
Understanding Exhibit Contracts
Exhibit 9 and Exhibit 10 contracts are non-guaranteed training camp deals that give teams flexibility while providing players opportunities to earn roster spots. The exhibit 10 contracts can be converted into two-way contracts and include a bonus if the player is waived and joins the team’s G League affiliate. The exhibit 9 contracts are standard non-guaranteed deals without those additional provisions.
These signings give the Knicks increased competition at training camp and depth options for the Westchester Knicks, the organization’s G League affiliate.
Looking Ahead
With training camp on the horizon, the Knicks have assembled a competitive roster that blends championship experience, proven shooting ability, and promising young talent. The additions of veterans like Brogdon, Shamet, Mathews, and Len provide insurance and leadership, while prospects like Pate, Warren, and Diawara represent potential long-term investments.
As the 2025-26 season approaches, these signings demonstrate the Knicks’ commitment to building a deep, versatile roster capable of competing at the highest level in the Eastern Conference.
