The North Plainfield, NJ Native has been called up to the USMYNT for camp before the U-20 World Cup begins in Chile
Harrison, NJ- New York Red Bulls Midfielder Serge Ngoma has been called up to the U.S. Youth National Team Camp for September, before the team flies down to Chile to start their journey in Group E of the FIFA U-20 World Cup. The hope with these two friendly matches is that the team will be ready for the tournament at the end of September.
Serge Ngoma
Ngoma, 20, is in his fourth season with New York, where he has posted 30 MLS appearances and has scored four goals. This season, Ngoma has made 15 MLS appearances and has scored one goal, which was in a 2-1 win over Chicago Fire FC on April 5. The forward has also made five MLS starts this season.
Ngoma’s Second Call Up
This will be Ngoma’s second call-up to the United States U-20 National Team during this calendar year. The North Plainfield, N.J. native has made two appearances for the U.S. U-20’s, making his first career appearance for them in a friendly against Norway U-20’s on June 6.
Preparing for Chile
The US U-20 Youth National Team was drawn to the top spot in Group E, where they will be facing New Caledonia from Oceania, France from UEFA, and South Africa from CAF. Ngoma and the U.S. U-20’s will embark on a training camp from September 1 to 8 in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain. They will participate in two international friendlies against Morocco U-20’s on September 5 and 7 at Pinatar Arena Football Center.
This will be the last training camp before the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will run from September 27 to October 19 in Chile.
