President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced to the World that the 2026 World Cup Draw will take place at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C.- On Friday Afternoon, August 22nd, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino came together at the White House to announce that the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final Draw will be performed at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, December 5th, at Noon Eastern.
Sports Networks Across The North Zone Prepare For The Draw
In the United States, FOX Sports will broadcast the draw in English, and NBC’s Telemundo & Universo will broadcast it in Spanish. In Canada, Bell Media owns TSN, CTV, and RDS in French, while in Mexico, it will be Televisa, as the North Zone of CONCACAF will receive the signal from the Kennedy Center for this monumental event live. Noon Eastern, – 9 AM Pacific in North America, while in Europe, 5 PM GBT Time, and 6 PM CET from Zurich, Switzerland.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino was inside the Oval Office with President Donald Trump to make this special announcement for the location of the draw. While some would’ve thought the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas was going to be a perfect location, the decision to host it in our Nation’s Capital felt more majestic, and with the final being played at MetLife Stadium, it’s easy to understand why.

Teams that have qualified for the Draw
Outside of Canada, Mexico, and the United States automatically qualify as the tri-hosts, these other nations have also qualified for next summer’s tournament. From Asia, Australia, Iran, Japan, Jordan, South Korea, and Uzbekistan. From South America, defending champions Argentina, Brazil, and Ecuador. In Oceania, New Zealand. In the World Cup Draw, Mexico has already been placed in Group A1, Canada in Group B1, and the USA in Group D1. The draw procedures will be posted by FIFA on their website.
Intercontinental Playoffs Held in North America
There will be a new Playoff Tournament for the Intercontinental Playoffs, as it will be held in North America. A new event that will see six nations from five of the six confederationsâŻ(with UEFA to hold a separate play-off competition for the final four European spots) compete for two places at the global extravaganzaâŻâŻwill be hosted in North America in March of 2026. During the World Cup Draw, these places will be at the bottom of each group.
Kennedy Center To Host The FIFA World Cup Draw
The Kennedy Center is the national cultural center and a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy, attracting millions of visitors each year to more than 2,000 performances, events, and exhibits. They also host the Kennedy Center Honors annually to give thanks to those in the performing arts and celebrate their careers within their selected profession. Honorees are selected for their artistic excellence in fields such as music, dance, theater, opera, motion pictures, and television. Hosting the Final Draw will be a huge moment for the facility.
This will be a major event for every Soccer fan living in the United States and for every fan from around the world to tune in and enjoy the glitz and glamour of who will be drawn to play against whom for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as the expansion from 32 teams turns to 48 in the blink of an eye. Soccer dignitaries and world media will be coming over to witness the fun in our Nation’s Capital before the actual tournament begins on June 11th of 2026.
