While the New York Jets had a great first day in the Free Agent Frenzy period, they were quiet on day 2. Nothing happened, but on the third day, the Jets went for some depth signings. Several reports from different NFL and Jets insiders posted their reports and here are some of the newer signings.
From Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, the Jets signed free agent Right Tackle Chukwuna Okorafor. He has 60 career starts, 59 with the Steelers. One start last year with the Patriots. He is 27 years old.
From Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic the Jets signed Center Josh Myers from the Packers in a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. He started in 50 games over the last three seasons with the Packers, and this would be a depth signing. The most important thing about this signing is that he was Justin Fields Center at Ohio State, so the reunion continues at the Jets.
The Jets lost Cornerback Brandin Echols to the Steelers, which I believe is a bit of a blow to that secondary, but they signed Veteran Isaiah Oliver to take that spot.
Those are some of the notable selections the Mougey/Glenn regime has made for day three of this free agency period. It might be minor moves, but for now, there are some signings at the bargain basement level.
