The Long Island Native remains with the Red Bulls
Harrison, NJ- The New York Red Bulls have re-signed veteran centerback Tim Parker to a one-year deal with an option to extend through to June of 2027. The Hicksville, NY native made 16 appearances across all competitions and scored one goal, which was the game-winner on the road at CF Montreal by the final score of two goals to nil.
Parker’s first stint with the Red Bulls
He was traded from the Vancouver Whitecaps to the Red Bulls in the 2018 season. He played in his first match with the club in the first leg of the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals away at Club Tijuana, and started right away. Made 29 appearances in the 2018 season and helped the club win its third Supporters Shield. He scored in the MLS Cup Playoffs against Atlanta United in the second leg of the Eastern Conference Finals.
“Tim is a great leader both on and off the field, and we are pleased to have him back in our locker room,” said Head of Sport Julian de Guzman. “He is a great human being, and we are looking forward to having him on the field, helping our club pursue its goals next season.”
Parker around the league
After spending three seasons with the Red Bulls from 2018-2020, Parker has played for the Houston Dynamo, St. Louis City SC, and the New England Revolution for the last four seasons before returning to the Red Bulls this past season. He has made 287 career appearances, scoring seven goals and having four assists.
“We are excited to keep Tim at the club. He drives the standards in the locker room, and he shows tremendous leadership,” said Head Coach Michael Bradley. “Having him continue with the club is a great boost for our group.
