Foxborough, Mass. – On a magical June evening in 2024, Gillette Stadium transformed into a cathedral of football greatness as Tom Brady became the 35th member of the Patriots Hall of Fame presented by RTX. The ceremony, held on June 12th – deliberately chosen for Brady’s six Super Bowl championships and iconic #12 jersey – marked the most significant individual honor in franchise history.

For the first time ever, the Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony moved inside Gillette Stadium to accommodate the massive crowd eager to witness Brady’s enshrinement. The 2.5-hour celebration from 7:00-9:30 p.m. became an unforgettable tribute to the greatest quarterback of all time, complete with surprise announcements that will forever cement Brady’s legacy in New England.

A Night of Unprecedented Honors

Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft delivered the ultimate surprise during his induction speech, announcing not one but two historic honors for Brady:

Jersey Retirement: Brady’s iconic #12 will be retired forever, ensuring no future Patriot will wear the number that became synonymous with championship excellence.

Bronze Statue Announcement: In a moment that brought the crowd to its feet, Kraft revealed plans for a 12-foot bronze statue of Brady – making him the first player in franchise history to receive this ultimate honor.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of a custom Patriots Hall of Fame ring, gifted by Kraft and presented by Brady’s former teammates Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski, adding another piece of jewelry to Brady’s already legendary collection.

Star-Studded Celebration

NBC’s Mike Tirico masterfully hosted the ceremony, joined by Boston-born comedian and lifelong Patriots fan Bill Burr, who brought his signature humor to the emotional evening. The event featured a who’s who of Patriots legends, with hundreds of former players in attendance and on-stage appearances by Brady’s championship teammates:

Offensive Legends: David Andrews, Drew Bledsoe, Deion Branch, Matt Cassel, Julian Edelman, Kevin Faulk, Rob Gronkowski, Brian Hoyer, Dan Koppen, Logan Mankins, Randy Moss, Rob Ninkovich, Matthew Slater, Wes Welker, James White

Defensive Icons: Patrick Chung, Ty Law, Devin McCourty, Willie McGinest, Vince Wilfork

The presence of these championship teammates created an atmosphere of brotherhood and shared glory, with each speaker recounting memories of Brady’s leadership, preparation, and clutch performances that defined two decades of Patriots excellence.

The GOAT’s Legendary Numbers

Brady’s Patriots career statistics remain unmatched in NFL history:

  • 6 Super Bowl Championships (2001, 2003, 2004, 2014, 2016, 2018)
  • 17 AFC East Division Titles in 18 seasons as starter
  • 74,571 passing yards in Patriots uniform
  • 541 touchdown passes wearing #12
  • 230 regular season wins as Patriots starting quarterback
  • 34 fourth-quarter comeback victories
  • 46 game-winning drives
  • 3 NFL MVP Awards (2007, 2010, 2017)
  • 4 Super Bowl MVP Awards
  • 14 Pro Bowl selections

His 2007 season remains legendary – 4,806 passing yards and 50 touchdown passes while leading the Patriots to a perfect 16-0 regular season. The 2016 Super Bowl comeback against Atlanta, overcoming a 28-3 deficit, stands as the greatest individual performance in championship history.

From 199th Pick to Patriots Immortality

Brady’s journey from sixth-round afterthought to Patriots icon represents the greatest success story in professional sports. Drafted 199th overall in 2000, Brady spent his first season learning behind Drew Bledsoe before a fateful injury thrust him into the starting role in 2001.

That season, Brady led the Patriots to their first Super Bowl victory, defeating the heavily favored St. Louis Rams 20-17 in one of the biggest upsets in championship history. At 24, Brady became the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl, launching a dynasty that would dominate the NFL for two decades.

The Dynasty Years

Under Brady’s leadership, the Patriots became the NFL’s gold standard:

Early Dynasty (2001-2004): Three championships in four years, establishing the Patriots as a powerhouse The Perfect Season (2007): 16-0 regular season, though falling short in Super Bowl XLII The Second Dynasty (2014-2018): Three more championships, including the historic 28-3 comeback Sustained Excellence: 17 AFC East titles, 13 AFC Championship Game appearances, 9 Super Bowl appearances

Brady’s partnership with head coach Bill Belichick created the most successful quarterback-coach combination in NFL history, with their 249 combined wins (including playoffs) setting the standard for sustained excellence.

Emotional Moments and Memorable Speeches

The ceremony featured numerous emotional highlights, with former teammates sharing stories of Brady’s legendary preparation, competitiveness, and leadership. Gronkowski and Edelman’s presentation of the custom Hall of Fame ring brought tears to Brady’s eyes, while Kraft’s surprise announcements about the jersey retirement and statue sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Brady’s acceptance speech touched on his gratitude to Patriots fans, his teammates, coaches, and the Kraft family for believing in a sixth-round draft pick from Michigan. His emotional tribute to his family and acknowledgment of the fans who supported him through two decades created one of the most touching moments in Patriots history.

Red Carpet Glamour

The evening began with a special Red Carpet Show from 5:30-7:00 p.m., hosted by Jason McCourty and Deatrich Wise Jr. The pre-ceremony festivities featured interviews with arriving legends, behind-the-scenes content, and fan reactions, building anticipation for the main event.

All attendees received commemorative gift bags, while the entire ceremony was streamed exclusively on Patriots.com for fans unable to attend, ensuring Brady’s enshrinement reached Patriots Nation worldwide.

A Legacy Preserved Forever

Brady’s Patriots Hall of Fame induction represents more than individual recognition – it’s the preservation of greatness for future generations. His transformation of the Patriots from afterthought to dynasty, his six championship rings, and his status as the GOAT are now permanently enshrined in team history.

The announcement of his statue ensures Brady’s presence will be felt at Gillette Stadium forever, while his retired #12 jersey guarantees no future Patriot will wear the number that became synonymous with championship excellence.

As Brady himself said during his emotional speech, “Once a Patriot, always a Patriot.” With his Hall of Fame induction, jersey retirement, and upcoming statue, Tom Brady’s legacy in New England is truly eternal.
